AirOS va ser dissenyat amb l'objectiu de ser simple i poderós. A diferència d'altres sistemes sense fils més populars o altres sistemes operatius de enrutadores que són complexos i requereixen una considerable inversió en capacitació. Ubiquiti es basa en un sistema operatiu avançat capaç de manejar un poderós sistema sense fil i funcions de enrutamiento, però desenvolupat amb una interfície d'usuari simple, neta i intuïtiva.
El nostre objectiu és fer AirOS prou simple perquè l'operador, client o nou tècnic el pugui entendre, configurar i implementar fàcilment. Al mateix temps, està evolucionant ràpidament per incloure noves funcionalitats de xarxa amb filferro i sense fil basat en la interacció i retroalimentació dels usuaris. AirOS va ser pensat per ser el sistema operatiu més poderós del mercat, el més intuïtiu i fàcil d'implementar.

AirOS v5.0 és l'última evolució de la interfície del AirOS de Ubiquiti. És un sistema operatiu avançat, amb potents funcions sense fils i de enrrutamiento. Basat en una interfície simple i intuïtiva. La pàgina principal mostra un resum del estat del enllaç, valors actuals de la configuració bàsica (depenen del mode operatiu), paràmetres de xarxa i estadístiques de trafic de totes les interfícies.

El Network Time Protocol és un protocol per sincronitzar els rellotges dels sistemes informàtics mitjançant paquets de dades en xarxes de latència variable. Pot ser utilitzat per fixar l'hora del sistema AirOS. L'hora del sistema es mostra al costat de cada entrada del registre de sistema, mentre que estigui activa l'opció d'opció del registre.
La pàgina del sistema conté les opcions administratives. Aquesta pàgina us permet a l'administrador modificar, reiniciar l'ordinador, tornar als valors per defecte, pujar un nou firmware, donar suport o actualitzar la configuració i la configuració de les credencials d'administrador.

Per configurar la Ubiquiti Access Point hem de fer els següents passos:

Farem ping al client a veure si el veiem.
Podem veure a la taula ARP i la taula de rutes del AP que una de les adreces que surten és la del client.
També podem monitoritzar a la secció MAIN les estacions que estan connectades a natros, tenir tota la informació referent al client i inclús el podem eliminar de la nostra connexió.

Els dispositius AirOS es poden monitoritzar remotament utilitzant SNMP. AirOS implementa múltiples MIBs, per exemple utilitza el MIB de Mikrotik per a informació relacionada amb WIFI (nivells de senyal) i cal tenir-ho en compte ja que es poden utilitzar plantilles de Mikrotik per a monitoritzar dispositius Ubiquiti.
IMPORTANT: snmpwalk no mostra per defecte totes les entrades de tot l'arbre MIB. Només mostrar mibs-2. Cal indicar explícitament el OID .
IMPORTANT: No surt la mateixa informació si consultem un client que si consultem un AP! Per exemple el nivell de senyal no apareix al AP, només als clients
IMPORTANT: Observeu la versió de SNMP! És la versió 1, la versió 2 no contesta.

Ara ja podeu crear gràfiques per a dispositius Ubiquiti. Cal tenir en compte però que algunes gràfiques no funcionen correctament i cal resoldre els següents problemes:

Aquest error el podeu veure p.ex. a la gràfica de CCQ si feu clic a la clau anglesa i executeu el codi de la gràfica en una línia de comandes:
