Aplicacions per defecte

Ubuntu ve amb una serie d'aplicacions per defecte (per exemple nano és l'editor de text per defecte a la consola)

Les aplicacions per defecte es guarden a la carpeta /etc/alternatives com a links:

La manera fàcil de modificar aquestes opcions per defecte és executar el programa update-alternatives. Per exemple per modificar l'editor per defecte:

$ sudo update-alternatives --config editor
There are 3 alternatives which provide `editor'.

2 /bin/ed
